BILL BOOTH | SENIOR PASTOR

Bill grew up in Northern Kentucky as the youngest of five children.  He graduated from Carson Newman University in Jefferson City TN, Southern Baptist Theological in Louisville KY and Baptist Theological Seminary in Richmond VA.  Bill has spent the majority of his ministry deeply connected to his Appalachian roots serving churches in Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee.  He is married to Lisa and the father of two grown daughters, Lindsey and Kelsey.

As the Lead Pastor of First Baptist Church Maryville, Bill is called upon to seek God’s guidance for the church and to encourage and lead our fellowship to be faithful Christ-Followers.  He leads by example as he strives to grow closer to God and to love and serve others.  His heart for service and mission informs the way he resources the church to reach our community and world with the Love of Christ.

Bill was born in a hospital named after William Booth, the founder of the Salvation Army.  Since he was also named William Booth and since it was the year they celebrated their 100th birthday, his newborn photo was featured in their national newspaper and he received a medallion commemorating the occasion.
