Growth

Jesus described Salvation as a person being "born again."  This metaphor of the spiritual life carries with it the truth that all of us should grow and mature in our relationship with God the Father through His son, Jesus Christ and with the daily assistance of the Holy Spirit dwelling in us.

Though we start out as "spiritual infants"  in our knowledge of all God has to offer us, we are not to stay in this infancy.  A growing Christian more and more comes to resemble the Lord Jesus Christ in all his or her actions and attitudes.  As we grow, we will look to the Lord to help us make the right decisions about daily direction, relationships, and morality.

Through diligence and commitment, we will seek to offer opportunities at First Baptist for growth that will contribute to spiritual maturity, ultimately leading to a God-honoring lifestyle and to our church becoming a Biblically functioning community.
