From the beginning of the scriptures, it is clear that community is important to God and necessary for God's people. God existed in community as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God's first negative about His creation was, "it is not good for people to be alone." Jesus' first ministry task was gathering around Him a tight-knit community. The early church feasted on fellowship with one another in the arena of a caring community. The apostle Paul was never alone during his missionary journeys and found strength in community with co-workers in Christ. We will pursue deep, care-giving relationships with other Christians for the purposes of growing deep levels fo love, interpersonal accountability, care for one another and spiritual maturation.
