Emerson Wiles

Emerson is a graduate of Tennessee Tech University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He served over 29 years as a senior pastor to churches in Tennessee and Hawaii prior to retiring and becoming a transitional pastor. He and his wife, Mary, have been married for over 42 years and have four grown children and six grandchildren.


Pastor of Students and Family Life Ministries

Gary Stinnett

Gary is a graduate of Maryville College with a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Organization Management. Prior to his current position, he served as Associate Pastor in charge of Sunday School and Discipleship here at FBCM and before that as a Youth Pastor at Dotson Memorial Baptist Church in Maryville. Gary is locally known as the voice of his alma mater, the William Blount High School Governors, as he has been their sports announcer for many years. He and his wife, Rhonda, have three grown children: Haley, Hannah, and Tyler.

Children's Ministry Student Intern

Hannah Stinnett

Hannah Stinnett is a graduate of William Blount High School and Pellissippi State Community College. She is in her final year at Johnson University and will graduate with dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Children’s Ministry and Biblical Studies. She has been a member of FBCM since July of 2004. She has taught the 7th and 8th grade girls Sunday School class for the past three years and has been an active Children’s Ministry volunteer since high school. She is also a volunteer with “Thrive Lonsdale,” an inner-city Children’s Ministry in Knoxville.

Associate Pastor

Charles Ballard

Charles is a graduate of the University of Memphis and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served over 47 years of ministry with churches in Virginia, Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee and as a hospital chaplain. He and his wife, Beverly, have been married 53 years and have one daughter, two grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

Bill Robinson

Worship Leader

Bill Robinson

Bill is well-known in this area for teaching orchestra in the Maryville City School system which he did for 36 years before retiring in 2015.   Presently, he is developing an orchestra program at Clayton-Bradley Academy.  In the past, he has  served as a music director at a sister church for 13 years and as a conductor of the Maryville College Orchestra for 15 years. Bill is a graduate of the University of Tennessee/Knoxville having earned a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Music Education. He is married to Martha, has a daughter, Bailey, and two granddaughters, Evey and Ella.

Children's Minister

Nick Poole

Nick is a graduate of Lee University with a Master's Degree in Ministry Studies in Youth and Family Ministry.  Prior to this position, Nick served as a Children's Pastor and Youth Pastor in churches in Cleveland, Tennessee.  Growing up, Nick and his family voluntarily participated in many mission activities in both the United States and abroad. Nick's education combined with his experience in missions and ministry have uniquely equipped him for developing a comprehensive children's ministry.
