Complete Unity

I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.  - John 17:22-23 NIV

Jesus’ prayer for his disciples, which includes us if we choose to follow Him, is that we be brought to complete unity through our love for God and each other.  In these parting words found in John 17 we are instructed to be one with God.  This relationship with God is the foundation of our spiritual growth as Christ-followers.  Perhaps it is time for us to return to the basics and start from the beginning.  This Fall we will be inviting our entire church to return to the basics of learning to love one another as Christ has shown us how in His life and words.  We will be looking at a study called One Anothering in which ten biblical commands given to teach Christians how they should treat one another are examined.  We will be looking at these commands in our worship services and through group studies (bible study groups, small groups) and by encouraging one another to participate in acts of service and kindness toward each other.  Jesus said that this is how the world will know that His message is real when they see it lived out in the lives of His followers.  I hope you will choose to join us on this journey of growing closer to God and each other.
