Caregiver Support Group
Caregiver Cafe’ is a support group for those in our community who are caregivers—those who take care of family members and friends who suffer from chronic and terminal illnesses. The group meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month from 9-11AM in the Snack Room of the Family Life Center. Participants will receive education, support, and companionship from the group, its leaders, and special guests. Due to the nature of this group, attendees should feel free to come and go as needed.

Our kids will lead in this Combined Service in the gym.

Quarterly Business Meeting
We will meet after the worship service(s) for a brief quarterly business session.

New Beginnings Women’s Group
New Beginnings was established in 2022 to provide friendship, community, and spiritual growth opportunities for women in First Baptist Church and the Maryville area who find themselves alone in life’s journey.
It meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 1pm in room 207 of the Family Life Center, and it meets at other times as determined for social outings, meetings, etc.

Hope Lifters Grief Support Group
Hope Lifters is a bi-monthly support group for all those grieving the loss of a loved one. It meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month in room 203 of the Family Life Center. The sessions are designed to help people process grief through education, support, and friendship. Since we all grieve for different lengths of time, the loss could have happened recently or in years past. The group is faith-based and open to the community. There is no cost to join.

We believe that a clean and welcoming space is essential for our community to gather in faith and fellowship. We invite all members to participate in our church property cleaning initiative. Earth Day Recycling
Keep Blount Beautiful will collect items for recycling in our parking lot on Saturday, April 20, from 10am to 1pm. For more information about the items they will accept, please go to the events page on their website, keepblountbeautiful.org.

Palm Sunday
We will celebrate the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, and we’ll welcome Him with open arms in both of our expressions of worship.

24-Hour Prayer Vigil
The church family of First Baptist is encouraged to participate in a Prayer Vigil, sponsored by the Deacons on Tuesday/Wednesday, April 15-16. Small groups of 2-4 people are encouraged to sign up together for a 2-hour block during the below 24-hour period. Groups may pray together at the church in person, or via in person or phone in a home or homes.

Below are several options for the location of the 2-hour prayer times:
Noon – 8 pm on Tuesday, April 15 and 8 am – Noon on Wednesday, April 16: Church’s Prayer Room, Sanctuary, or a classroom reserved through the Church Office.
8 pm – 8 am, Tuesday, April 15 to Wednesday, April 16:: In homes, either in-person or via phone
Prayer Needs:
This vigil will be a spiritual entreaty, asking God to move in our country and church. The list below is not exhaustive or limited and can be changed in any way prayer partners desire. Twelve items are listed for prayer, which would break the prayer time into 10-minute segments over a 2-hour period.

Maundy Thursday Experience
Join us for a journey through the last hours of Jesus’ life, leading up to the crucifixion and resurrection. Groups of 12 will rotate through rooms in the FLC each set up to experience one significant event on the night leading up to the cross. The whole tour should take an hour. Good Friday
The Church Office and FLC Gym will be closed on Friday, April 18, in honor of Good Friday. The Longer Table will still meet at 5pm in the gym.

Kids' Introduction to Golf Camp
We are going to have a blast at our Kids Summer Golf Camp introducing the game of golf to the kids. We will have fun in a safe, game-based learning environment. Camp will run from 9am to 3pm each day and will include lunch and a devotional. There are spots available for 25 children. The cost is $100 dollars per child, and it goes up to $125 after May 26th. You can pay online or drop a check off in the church office. Your child’s spot will not be held until payment has been received. Scholarship are available on an as-needed basis. Honduras Mission Trip Interest Meeting
Matthew 28 tells us to go and make disciples of all nations. In October 2025, we will be given an opportunity to live into that call through an international mission trip to Honduras. This mission trip is open to anyone ages 10 and older. We will be doing a variety of work from food distribution to construction to children’s ministry. If you are interested in learning more about the trip and/or signing up, there will be an interest meeting after the service on March 23 in the FLC. Contact Nick Poole for more information.

Ash Wednesday Service
Join us for this brief Ash Wednesday service in the Encouragers Room. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent. The ashes, made from the previous year’s Palm Sunday leaves, are spread in a cross pattern on our foreheads as a symbol for our grief for sin which separates us from God. Lent is a season of penance, reflection, and fasting which prepares us for Christ’s Resurrection on Easter Sunday through which we attain redemption.

Join us as we travel across town and help Second Harvest Food Bank. We will serve from 9am-12pm and then go to lunch somewhere afterwards. You can meet us in the FLC Lobby at church at 8:45am to ride the van or carpool, or you can meet us at Second Harvest (136 Harvest Lane, Maryville, TN 37801). The only charge for this event is the cost of your lunch.
