Ash Wednesday Service

Ash Wednesday Service

Join us for this brief Ash Wednesday service in the Encouragers Room. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent. The ashes, made from the previous year’s Palm Sunday leaves, are spread in a cross pattern on our foreheads as a symbol for our grief for sin which separates us from God. Lent is a season of penance, reflection, and fasting which prepares us for Christ’s Resurrection on Easter Sunday through which we attain redemption.
